I have been experiencing alot of dropped calls with my Pearl, does anyone else have a problem with dropped calls with the Pearl?

Also are there any suggestions?

TIA

No problem with mine. I have GREAT call quality and stability with the deivce. The only problem I've had is one that is with GSM in general and that is dropping calls between cell towers when driving. I came to TMO from VZW and am very happy with the call quality and signal.

Feel free to check your coverage at compass.t-mobile.com

My coverage and reliability for the pearl is excellent!

Although i absolutely LOVE everything else with my Pearl, i have had HORRIBLE phone service so far. I am a new customer to T-Mobile so i don't know if it's the service or the phone, (i'm gonna say its the service) but I get horrible reception, dropped calls constantly and I have to go to a certian area of my office to actually place phone calls because i get NO signal in most areas. I work in NYC where the coverage map is suposedly EXCELLENT, however, in my office, on the street, on the bus, my service just plain blows. I have a few more days before I'm locked into a contract w/ T-Mobile so we'll see if i can tolerate this...

Building penatration is difficult for ALL GSM providers. Cingular with the 850mhz band will supposedly get better penatration in buildings but depending on the building, it may not be enough. If you must have reception in the office, you might have to go with a CDMA carrier like Verizon or Sprint if the Cingular doesn't work.

How is the call quality outside of the building?

Thanks for the replies.

I spoke with TMO, and it is not the coverage area... I am in Atlanta, so coverage is great, so we did some troubleshooting, and it was determined that it is my phone, so I should have a new Pearl in the morning

Just stay with tmobile til they give you your unlock code...unlock the pearl and go with whatever GSM service you want. But tmobile has the best rate plans and you can still select Cingular in your Network options if you want to use their towers...but some features wont be avail...ie Datapackage...text msging. they will be charged when you use them.
