Dropbox

Found a nifty utility that seems to work well with the G1. The basic idea is that if you need to manipulate a file you've got locally with another remote computer (or mobile phone ), you simply drop your file into your Dropbox bin, and it'll arrive there in a few moments. Its got a nice web based front end thats been optimised for the iPhone and works well with the G1 from what i've experienced with it.

I've heard rumblings about googles GDrive which may end up doing the same thing so would probably end up working better with a Gphone, but from what i've seen this is pretty cool

i have the dropbox set up and waiting on my desktop, I However have never dropped anything into it. but you know it's there if I do. of course by now I've forgotten how to use it, any passwords associated with it. but it's there. oh yes it is.

Thank you so much. I've been using Dropbox since the invites only beta and now on the G1 is just perfect. But too bad, I can't open .doc or .pdf files on it just about yet.

I dont get it.

How have you guys got dropbox working.

I have the t-mob G2 and cant find dropox app on their site or in the marketplace.

have you used the linux install?

There is hope for a native app- Dropbox has a position open for an "android engineer" (by which I assume they mean a human to work on an Android version of Dropbox). See http://dropbox.theresumator.com/apply/eq08Lm/

Dropbox is great as you can easily keep files in sync, store files in the cloud. With any device that has a browser you can access files in your dropbox 'cloud' storage area.

I wanted to give this little hint for potential new users: --> by using this link https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTU5ODc3MTA5 ,
both me and any new user will get a 256MB bonus to the 2GB free space!

This extra space for backup and sync will be the most welcomed for any new user!
