Droid vs Imagio

I don't have my droid yet (will be here on monday) i can only speak for the imagio. I have had the imagio for 2 weeks and can say it is a nice device overall. The UI is decent thanks to touchflo and the screen is very crisp and pleasant to look at. My main gripe is browser slowness and I have had some issues with random resets. I have tried some installs and tweaks thanks to humpa's sticky in the imagio forum which helped but still isn't what i would like it to be (fast). Plus I have never been a "real fan" of winmo but I 'm not gonna knock it because there are some diehard loyalists who swear by it.
The imagio has the mobile tv option if you are into that, but i don't use it.
The onscreen qwerty's aren't bad but I have big hands so sometimes i tend to mistype even though i'm pretty good with touchscreens. You do have to keep an eye on the task manger and end running programs not in use as it will bog it down. Even if the Moto droid wasn't out i would still change my imagio in for another device(probably eris). This was my first HTC and i do like it, it's just the winmo aspect i am not content with. I am by no means trying to sway you away from the imagio but if you don't have winmo experience and/or like it there will some sort of learning curve whether steep or easy. I will see how the two stack up a little better when my droid gets here and i can put them through the paces side by side before returning the imagio. I will let you know how it pans out.

Thanks for those details on the Imagio!

I'm also wondering which platform will have the best options for add-on apps. I know that is one of the things being touted by the android platform. Can you add apps to WinMo easily and are there many available?

wm has been around for alot longer, so yes it has far more apps available, but you have to track them down as they are not all in one place. start with pocketgear.com

Also forgot to mention the battery cover is a pain to get off. somedays i have to pull the battery 2 or 3 times and it is a pain in the you know what.

Well I got the droid yesterday morning and I can say I made the right choice. This phone is quite nice. The screen is crsytal clear and very easy to read on. Battery life has been tremendous as I am still on 1 charge and have 75% left. The onscreen qwerty's are great and the physical keyboard is easy to use despite what some people are saying(I am using it to type this). Just like winmo there is some learning with android. But I can say so far so good. I will post again when I get more time on the droid. But this is easily the nicest phone I have owned.
