Droid or iphone?

Ok, so I like both phones and got the Droid recently (after a long battle of going back and forth between the two), but I am wondering if I made the wrong decision. What I'm most worried about is running out of memory (but I may be paranoid). It seems like if I don't clear out the cache periodically, I am going to run out of memory sooner rather than later. I like having the GPS, I like being able to run the GPS in the car while listening to either Pandora or Slacker radio. The biggest appeal of the Droid to me was the ability to run multiple apps (i.e. listening to internet radio while doing other things) and the GPS. The network (Verizon vs At&t) doesn't matter to me. Am I being way too paranoid over running out of memory? Should I have just gone with the Iphone because it's the "best"? Thanks.
 
Don't worry about it as such. It may be a virtue of the multitasking.

One thing to do: check to make sure recently exited apps are actually closed. Android doesn't really tell you when an app has shut "for good" versus just hiding in the background.
 
iPhone doesn't really close apps. They're just paused. While it may not multitask on 3rd party apps, it does task switch. The app that is switched out stores its process state on some cache. When you go back to the app, you return to the same point where you left it. This is in effect, task switching.

Android does both process pausing, and multitasking. Though its hard to tell which is which unless you got some sort of task manager.

Both will close processes automatically while preserving their state if memory allotment becomes low. The memory space is then recovered for the foreground. This is done transparently not visibly from the user.

If you're worried about running out of RAM on Android, there are free task managers on the Android Market that lets you peep at the processes and apps running and lets you kill them.

Some Android apps like Dolphin, will close and quit completely if you press the Return (
