I don't see any problem with that. The Android Facebook makes no difference on that aspect from the iPhone Facebook, Symbian Facebook, Blackberry Facebook or Windows Mobile Facebook.
But I do care about notifications because that's the only way I can timely obtain their messages and respond to them. That is essentially part of social networking--timely response.
I have around 100mb of memory on my Blackberry, has over 25 apps installed and still over 85mb. I'm just using the stock 2gb SD card; this thing can hold up to 32gb.
You think I don't know that? The problem of this is I have to use the mobile IE (really slow browser) to download the app.
And yes, you can do it via sync on the desktop. And yet I have had more USB desktop sync errors with my HTC Diamond against Windows Vista than any other phone type. Both Nokia and Blackberry doing better.
Except that the highest resolution Windows Mobile phones are also the most expensive, and you're not supporting the phones with the largest market base. DirectX has been promised for years now and never materialized. Furthermore, the resolutions used by the latest HTC vs. the latest LG vs. the latest Samsung Windows Mobile phones are not the same. There appears to be literally at least 17 different resolutions officially mentioned.
Honestly I don't believe in modding phones. They have to work right off or they go to the trash can. I have had enough problems modding phones and to think of all the time wasted that could have been used in a productive state.
Modding phones work best if you're using a device that is common with other parts of the world. Not CDMA phones. Kernel are not the same. You can't mod CDMA phones with code from GSM phones.
Another thing. My island carrier has to obtain phones from Verizon and Sprint to work on their network. They don't have the sheer volume needed to make special orders to HTC and such. Thus they have to unlock the Verizon and Sprint phones to make them work on their network.
If Sprint issues an update on my HTC, the new update, which fixes problems on the phone, also causes it to relock. I have to get my carrier to kindly unlock it again. With Blackberry and Android, once its unlocked, it stays unlocked even with successive updates, even if the updates were carrier provided. My Verizon Blackberry Tour works on the same island network as my Sprint HTC Diamond was. I got the Verizon 4.7.1.61 update. Remains unlocked and works immediately the moment I get took off the USB cable after the upgrade.
This MyTouch3G here? Unlocked and working with DoCoMo now. It was at the OS 1.5 state when that happened. Got updated to 1.6. Still working on the same carrier. When I make updates on Android and Blackberry, APN settings are preserved and so much more of the other data. The two times I updated my Windows Mobile phone, all information was erased, each requiring a trip back to the carrier to get it working again, and resyncing back all my contact and email information, even reinstalling the apps. I never had to reinstall apps on the Blackberry, Android, my Nokia Symbians and my iPod Touch when I had updates on every one of these. With the exception of these Symbians here, all these devices have at least an update road ahead of them and isn't going to stay on the same OS version for the rest of their life.
By the way, DROID does not use the standard Android Facebook application. It has its own, and its has been described as better. On the MyTouch 3G, I also have Babbler on top of the official Facebook app.
