Driving in Moscow

Hello everyone who reads this. This will be my first complaining post thus dont blame me if its not up to standards. If you do, then :mfinger: you :D !

I live in Moscow (Russia) and all you people complaining about stupid drivers know nothing about the REAL IDIOTS on the road! You have to come over here and try to get through Moscow at 9AM :banghead:
I have just got my licence like a month ago but i have been driving a bike before that and did it for over a year. Thus i thought i wouldnt have any problems with getting on the road and being not scared of the traffic...
God damn it! There is no worse place to learn driving then Moscow.
First - there are jams EVERYWHERE!!! Because every bloody mile there is a car crash on the road which slows the traffic down! Do you know why there are car crashes??? Cause noone will EVER let you change the lane even if you were indicating for ages until you actually drive into the car next to you thus it has no choice but to brake... Well... sometimes it brakes too late.
Or would you believe - yeasterday was driving at around 140 km/h turning out of the tunnel just to see a TRUCK PARKED in my lane with emergency lights on! ON THE MOTORWAY!!!!! If there was anyone on my left we would be both dead!
Or a police guy walking into my lane while me doing around 100 km/h just to stop the guy on the lane next to mine doing 105 km/h!!! God bless Toyota for great brakes or i would have been in jail for ages for mudering a policeman!!!

Do you have anything similar in your countries? No way! I lived in Englad and driving there is just as sweet as going for a walk (unless you're on a bike). Everyone changes lane to the slower one if they see you flying behind them. So cute....

If you wanna have a lesson of extreme driving, come here...

Me not pussy! Me brave!!! :D
No. I didnt mean i am scared of traffic generally, but of all those fuckers on old cars who do the zig-zag manuevours (is it correct spelling?? ), blond girls in shiny red cars (oh my god they are worse than a camel in Cairo i guess) who dont see anything or anyone on the road or fucking scooters surfing in between the lanes and getting very abused if u change the lane into them (even though you were indicating, and looked around, and did it slowly they will NEVER slow down).

To Caffeinated: Actually i still think that Moscow is worst place to drive cause as you said in Cairo noone goes that fast or trying to. In my case the traffic (if not in jam) goes at average 140 km/h (even though the limit in the city is 60 km/h) and do the zig-zag shite, changing lanes into you, cutting it infront of your bumper and then braking heavily...
However i may try driving in Cairo - i love Ancient Egypt history thus wanna go there. Though scared of getting mugged, raped or kidnapped....

To lies on myspace: What does that mean?

Apparently they don't shoot you there for driving stupid? Here we have road rage, they will shoot you.

If I were you I'd try less traveled streets. Might be quicker and safer.

Do they also change CD's and talk on their cell phones while driving? Hell, here they do all that and those blonds in red sports cars, they also put on makeup! All at the same time :yikes:

By the way, love the accent!

I would say the worst drivers are in Rome. The Italians fit 6 lanes of traffic into what would anywhere else be a 3 lane highway. They do this while driving very fast. However, for all of the time I spent in Italy, I never saw a single accident. The people drive fast as hell, get from point A to point B quickly, yet despite appearances they do it safely. Maybe they are the best drivers.
If the number of wrecks is the measure, my hometown of New Orleans has the absolute fucking worst drivers in the history of the universe. I swear to Odin, people get their drivers' license out of breakfast serial boxxes. A pistol grip pump shotgun is a must for driving in the Cresent City.
AAaaarrgggHHH!!!! I'm getting roadrage at my desk at the office in California from thinking about the drivers in New Orleans!! If yall will kindly excuse me, I'm gonna go throw the water cooler at the fax machine.

Yeah, do it! :soldier: Fax machines are evil toooooo!
By the way all you saying that there are crappier drivers in other parts of the world makes me feel a little better :D Cause all i can compare my experience to is England and Germany and they are very patient drivers.

Today lost control of my car hard braking in wet trying to sneak into the 90 dergee turn infront of a bus while overtaking it on the left lane (opposite one).... That was scary... Didnt crash though :shiner:

Off topic, but can you post some pics of the old, old churches? I love old churches, especially in moscoa--absolutely beautiful architecture!!

Very pretty indeed.

However all i actually saw in my life were the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow as well as main chirches in Kremlin and around.

Strangely, i prefer gothic style chirches - like England ones. The most impressive is Lincoln Cathedral.

Sorry for offtopic in my own topic.... :D

I never drove around in the DDR, but I have driven in Bayern. The only thing that bothered me was the stau I often saw around Munchen. It is comparable to the congestion around Los Angeles.
BTW: those pictures look wonderful! All that nice snow. We've been having a heat wave in the U.S.... it's been bad awfull!

In England there is still shit bits on the motorway when coming out of the tolls, they try to get about 24 lanes into 2 and its a nightmare. But thats about the worst motorway madness in England apart from police cars every half a mile.

Lol I was in cairo last Thanksgiving break. The van we rented hit three cars getting out of the city. Never bothered to stop, just said "oh it is nothing, a kiss, a kiss." But then there were Mercedes here and there that didn't have a scratch and got a wide berth...always wondered who drove them...
