...trans? re-asking this one? I have pried, tapped, hit, pulled and anything else I can think of, but this drive shaft will not budge from the vehicle. I have the new part, it's just a simple expansion ring to hold it. What can I do to get her out?
Tomorrow I will try a puller tool, if it'll fit in that tight space. What else can I do?....

Also, I'm bending the heck out of the drive shaft piece and marking the trans case

Ok, I'm chanking the shaft because the out boot was split, the cv joint was popping and it's cheaper and now easier(suupose to be) to replace the whole left shaft assembly than one component. Never had this much problems taking the end out of the transmission

I have tried a 5 inch cold chisel up to a 3 foot tanker bar, it's not budging...
 
kinda a tuff one here. sounds like you have given it the what for already and it still wants to be persnikity. your right it should, with modest pulling, come right out. i cant say i agree with all that you have tried as some of these approachs can damage the tranny. for example, the seal and/or outer bearings of the tranny. dont forget its made of aluminum which means you could feasibly crack the case prying on it and then you really have some problems! i would stay with a straight type of pulling method and maybe toss in some lubricants or rust breakers. not that its rusted mind you, but over time the shaft and splines tend to "weld" together from heat, grit, grime, and even just plain usage. if you must pry, pry against something less expensive to replace. and be prepared to replace your outer seal. prying will damage this. then youll be wondering why your new axle is leaking tranny fluid/gear lube. sorry i cant be of help more, but this is one id have to be there to see in order to help more.
 
Take the trans pan off and drive a screwdriver between the axle shaft and the differential inside the trans. You can see it with the pan off and it will come right out like that.
