Have you checked the fuses? Same happened to my wife's car, i could hear a click which i guess was a relay trying to kick in. The fuse was blown though.

If it isn't the fuse, then test the switch with a multimeter to make sure its working, use some white grease on the guide rails (window might be sticking thats why it isnt going up/down). Its fine to remove the weather shield just stick it back on when your finished.

If all that fails then go to a scrap yard and get a new window motor, and have a look for a "how to" guide for replacing electric window motors.

I HEAR A CLICKING NOISE BUT NO MOVEMENT,ANY HELP OR ADVICE PLEASE? I DON'T WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF BY A DEALER AND WOULD LIKE TO FIX THE PROBLEM MYSELF, I'VE TAKEN THE DOOR PANEL OFF BUT NOT SURE WHETHER I CAN REMOVE THE WEATHER SHIELD??

1 check the fuse.
2 check the operating switch in the door panel (make sure its not been isolated)

try assisting it with your hands on both sides of the glass... it could be jamming in the track.
