Literally. I work for a rental car agency. :steering: Not wishing to offend anyone, especially those long running-godly type people who have been on this board forever and despise my newbie-self, but I just have to say...people are idiots. So if you've rented a car recently, check below for anything stupid you might have done.
First off, a few examples.
1) A man leaves a bucket of KFC in the trunk of his car. Not normally a stupid thing, right? This man, however, is in the middle of Yosemite National Park, where they explicitly WARN you left and right, not to leave food in your car. I laughed so hard I cried when he brought it back. I never knew a bear could rip out the entire back seat of a car that quickly. KFC is mmm mmm good.
2) A woman is speeding. Run away minivan! She never saw the cow coming. Thankfully she got out of the van to check on the cow, before the van exploded. :rip:
3) Ever even think of putting diesel into a cadillac? I didn't think so. Not all of us are this bright, however.
A word to the wise. Waving your internet printoffs in my face and calling me a &#^$ liar is not going to change what I have in my computer. I'm sorry that your print out quotes you 72 cents :twocents: less than what my computer is showing me, but I'm a peon. No, there's no manager on duty. No, I can't change it. No, I can't call my manager (Or rather, won't, he's always drunk by this time, and in a rather bad mood.) :beerchug: The only power I do have, is to cancel your reservation. Or, if I'm feeling charitable, and decide to forgive your unmannered behaviour, I may deign to give you that lime green 2001 Taurus that we've been saving in the back, especially for you. You know--the one with 80,000 miles on, that still smells like fish, no matter how many times we have it detailed. That one. So, be nice.
Also, one more thing. More than most, car rental agents have the power of pricing. If you call me up, and you're polite, and not entirely idiotic, I'll try to help you. I understand that this isn't something that people do everyday. If, however, you're a big jerk? You may be surprised to note, that "Today, our economy car, the Geo Metro, is going for the low, low price of $65.00 a day...plus tax."
