Drive-by Truckers

Train? Who would compare the two?

No, for me 'easy listening rock' is along the lines of ACDC, you know, easy to enjoy rock.

But I guess I could have phrased it better.

I`ve heard a couple of songs by them but it`s on a kind of DJ/Mix CD so i`ve no idea how much they`ve actually been remixed from the original songs.

I assumed they were a couple of DJs

Tornadoes is one of my favorites

I also bought the "Live at the 40 Watt" DVD, it is excellent

Also check out "The Night GG Allin Came To Town"

the most country songs on their new album. QUOTE]

I think Lisa's Birthday definitely qualifies as country-ish. It's my favorite track off the new one. The album as a whole is better than the last. My favorite is still Dirty South though.

I'm an Isbell and Cooley fan first though. Patterson's vocals are a bit much at times. And I see no reason why Carl Perkin's Cadillac couldn't be a mainstream song. I sneak that onto playlists all the time and no one thinks twice.

i downloaded The dirty south, listened to it once i think, apparently was not much impressed....too classic for me own taste....

Just curious if anyone else has gotten their 2009 album yet Fine Print: A Collection of Oddities & Rarities 2001 - 2008. I for the most part stay away from these types of albums because they're usually a collection of crappy songs that didn't make the final cut, but god damn this one is different. It's got probably the best cover of "Like A Rolling Stone" that I've ever heard.

They have a "twang" that at first was very unappealing, but "Uniform" off of Declaration Day, got its hooks in me and they've become growers. Musically an acquired taste, lyrically genuinely awesome.
