Dreamworks is making a movie based on troll dolls.

I never liked Troll dolls, but... wow. An entire movie? :ack:

It's a shame that Dreamworks wants to do this, I think they do have pontential to do some great stuff - and imho, they have some great movies - but it's a shame the only thing that matters to them is how much money you can milk out of a project before moving on to the next one.

Quality =/= quantity, as they say

Yeah, while I don't like to judge movies before seeing a trailer or more detail regarding the storyline, a movie based on the Troll dolls doesn't sound that interesting to me. I think I had a couple of them when I was little, although I never liked them that much. I don't know what they could do with a whole movie based on these toys, especially when their current mythology is fairly small to begin with. It would be nice if they could make a nice movie with this concept, but I'm not sure how likely that is to happen.

BART SIMPSON: I'm a troooooooooooooooooooool man...I'm-a troooooooooooooooooooooool man...

MARGE SIMPSON: I don't want you playing with something with such bizarre hair. Mmmmmmm...awful hair!

From the makers of "Epic Movie" and "Disaster Movie", it's now time for "Meme Movie"!

Watch as a bunch of Internet Trolls start flamewars and insult people's tastes on online message boards while the moderators seem powerless to fight them!

"We're losing bandwith!"

"This is the end..."

This summer.

Also in 3D!

If it's a movie about trolls in a fantasy troll world, like DiC's Trollz, it might be worth a look, but if it's a story about the trolls as dolls, then it screams Toy Story ripoff.

The cartoon a few years ago wasn't terrible, for what it was (preschooler stuff aimed at girls) and they actually addressed some surprising issues on it and handled things quite interestingly. Though still, I doubt this will turn out well.
