Dream girls - is is ok for a ten year old to watch

my ten year old wants to watch the Beyonce film Dreams girls tonight but i havent had a chance to see it yet. has anyone seen it ? is there a huge amount of swearing or sex in it ? i know it is a 12 but she is a very grown up ten. thanks for the info

I watched it once last year and cant recall anything too graphic in it. It must have been a 12A certificate at the cinema which means your daughter woud have been allowed to see it with an adult. The dvd box says "Contains one use of strong language and hard drug references". Hope that helps. By the way if she is expecting Beyonce to sing and perform like she usually does she may be disappointed. Its a bit like the Chicago film and the music is more motown than hip hop!!

My 6 year old watched this (she duped her grandmother!!) there is a character who dies of a drug overdose but you don't really see anything. There is some swearing but as she sometimes goes to the football with her dad she's probably heard worse. I don't think it would be a problem for a 10 year old to watch this film.

I would say that the content is less strong than Eastenders at the moment.

Beyonce says the 'f' word once, and there is a scene of drug taking but thats about it. Nothing to major. (The music's great )
