Drayton Mid Position Valve Actuator - Help Needed

So for clarification. If I

(1) Make sure the boiler\pump is off.
(2) Make sure the water is cool (for safety purposess)
(3) Make sure the fill tap is closed
(4) Put a hose on the drain plug and open it

That will drain the system.

And

(a) Do I only need to drain to below the tri-position vlave

(b) Should I open the bleed valves on the upper radiators when draining and refilling

Yes to everything,just remeraber to check that the leccy is dead before you start poking around with the 3 way...

And its certainly a job i would NOT be starting at 4.18 on a sunday afternoon!

UPDATE

I bought a used actuator on eBay. Unsoldered the microswitch and soldered into my actuator.

Works fine now.

Plus I have a spare synchron motor should that fail some time.
