This talkback is for what you thought about this movie. Do you consider it an official part of the Dragon Ball franchise? Did you like it? Was this movie even popular in Japan? I have the dvd and I gotta say it's probably the worst movie I've ever seen.

I didn't like this movie either, in fact I'm trying to repress my memory of seeing that movie on Telemundo (yes, I can speak and understand Spanish, hell I used to watch the Spanish dub of DRAGONBALL on Telemundo)

(sigh) well at least looks better than the crapfest they're making now

OMG! I remeraber when DB: The Magic Begins was on Telemundo. lol. That was about 2 years ago I think. I didn't even know the series was on Telemundo. Heck I should've watched it. When was the series last on that channel?

Yeah, this was back when I was 7 or 8 years old like in 2000 to 2001, they showed it up til the Cell Games saga, and the Spanish dub was pretty much my introduction to the Japanese version, since they kept the original music and even got away with showing it uncut, they even had the episode previews, then in that same period of time I watched it in RAW Japanese when it was on AZN (then known as the International Channel)

That's a great way to get introduced to the original Dragon Ball/Z. I grew up with the American dub unfortunately. lol Ok back on topic. What did you guys think of this movie?

Oddly enough I've been a hardcore DRAGONBALL fan (and anime in general), since 1995 (3 years old), in fact playing the first Budokai game reminded me of the Japanese version

But yeah let's get back on topic, The movie was never popular in Japan (in fact the Japanese fans don't even know about, except the hardcore one that is), and I don't recognize it as an official part of the franchise

That's kinda wierd since it's been released just about everywhere else. Ya know it would sell in Japan, even though it's just about the worst movie ever made. lol There's also a Korean live-action movie that we've never seen and it is very very very rare.

That movie was so bad you couldn't help but love it. When my friend and I watched it for the first time we were rolling on the floor laughing. If anything, it's great for a laugh.
