Dragon Ball? Or Dragon Ball Z?

Dragon Ball Z for me, I loved the action and the characters! I may be biased though as I grew up watching it on Toonami. I loathe DBZKai and Dragonball, I've tried watching both many times and didn't like either...

I have to go with the original. I love watching the original characters grow up like that, and the battles seemed more simple.

But Z is good too.

I have a question, why didn't they do a Dragon Ball Kai? Love to have seen that, I mean really the original should have ended after Piccolo's defeat. Instead of going on for 5 more episodes.

Why do I have to pick? It's all the same story. If I absolutely had to chose which half of a story I liked best, I'd pick the first half.

The reason is because it contains more of my favorite Sagas. My least two favorite sagas are the Freeza and Cell sagas (the fighting portions, I liked the stuff leading up to it; Namek and Androids). But my favorite is the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. I've spoken at length on the topic.

Truthfully? I'm not really a fan of either anymore, but if I had to choose it'd be DBZ. I'm never the type to really care for how characters started out when they were kids. (That's why I prefer part 2 of Naruto compared to part 1 despite the oh, so many crappy moments... but I suppose I really should start caring... We'll work on that lol)

I prefer the 42 volumes of Dragonball myself, but really both anime's are entertaining in their own ways. If it was between Z and Kai I would have to choose Kai, because honestly I think it is better paced and frankly it does not have any moments where I feel like changing the channel or doing somthing else (most of these moments come from the filler, but when fights go on for too long or if it is a bunch of talking...).

Dragonball pretty much have the adventure and humor, which is why I love Dragonball so much. But the series doesn't have the crazy action scenes and unique characters unlike in Dragonball Z, which kept those two in.

Both of the series (the anime version and maybe even the manga) have they're hit and miss. Both of the series have they're moments.

Its really hard for me to say, since I love both of these series and enjoy the manga. Hmmm, but I have to choose, for now, Dragonball. The series at least keep a good reason why the series is called "Dragonball". Which, only in DBZ, kinda lost its reason after the Frieza Arc. Since after the Frieza Arc, the Dragonball wasn't the main focus any more. I mean yeah, you can argue and say Dragonball did the same thing with its tournaments, but the series at least came back with a story about the Dragonballs than leaving the idea there as a back-up tool.
