I'm sorry, but I was dissappointed with the results.

Awesome opening, awesome ending, awesome eye-catchers and funny commercials featuring the characters.

But...why couldn't Toei have the budget for the whole show? It could've been more brilliant.

They don't look that remastered, either.
 
Yeah, which makes me think it shall end with them flying off toward Piccolo, with nine opening with Kuririn's arrival and discussion stuff. I suspect Yamcha will die in episode 9 as well.
 
It was brought up in the Daizex chat that Haberkorn is a notorious prankster, so we might want to be somewhat weary of this little tidbit.


Also, the AWESOME guys at Kanzentai have got their first episode guide up, and my God is it awesomely detail. Animation comparisons, what is completely new, and audio comparisons (acting, music, etc.)

I would have loved that too. However, I realize that reanimating the ENTIRE show would have cost several times what this cost. Even I understand that that wouldn't have been a good use of resources.
 
Gotta say that the Saiyan saga is the one saga I miss filler the most. It's fascinating to see a more accurate anime portrayal of the original manga, but even in the manga I felt that the Saiyans arrived a bit too quickly after they were introduced.

By contrast, I cannot wait for the Freeza saga to be adapted into Dragonball Kai. No Fake Namek, retarded Bulma fillers, and dragged out Freeza fight! It'll be a dream come true!
 
Out of the whole scene where Goku and Raditz dies, I'm just don't like the whole fact that it looks more like a bruise, and that Goku dies from it. I mean it looks like something a Senzu Bean could heal up with no problem. I mean I would have prefered a hole, since I could do without the blood, the hole not so much, it felt more like an awkward edit I would expect from the Saban days.

Also I liked that they fixed Vegeta Armor, it now makes me want to get this figure of Chopper wearing the old colors even more.
 
Its probably just me, but Horikawa Ryou just doesn't sound good voicing Vegeta anymore. All his lines seem forced now. IMO, he was much better when he voiced him back in Z/GT.
 
Mayumi Tanaka reprises her role as Uranai Baba. This is actually Baba's second VA, who voiced the character since the end of the Cell Arc.

Tohru Furuya reprises his role as Yamucha and Hiroko Emori reprises her role as Chaozu.

Episode 7 of Kai covered up the rest of episode 19 and all of episode 20 with a brief scene of Nappa and Vegeta in their poRAB from the end of episode 16 of Z (you can clearly tell Toei was still using the wrong colors for them at this point, look how Vegeta's gloves are darker than the supposed white area of his armor).
