This is a real oddity: presumably a pilot that never made it.
An attempt to do a comic book (tv) movie with porn movie production values. Even the star, Peter Hooten looks like a porn actor who's finally got a real job.
Some nice other dimension sequences based, more or less, on Steve Ditko's remarkable artwork and John Mills as Merlin, just about keeping a straight face when doing battle against an evil sorceress and some even more evil dialogue.
I hadn't seen this since it was on tv eons ago and still find it good fun. It might even have made a decent series but I guess we'll never know.
Rumour has it there's a big budget remake on the way but that isn't always a good idea, at least if Fantastic Four is any indication.
