OHHHH , never thought of that .Maybe thats what happened . I bloody went to the loo at the aRAB and came back and there he was , dead .! Did he just keel over in the throes of it ?
 
I'm assuming that Julian Fellows is trying to be witty or incisive or something, rather than sounding like an unredeemed snob, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on that score.

I have not contributed to this debate or been a nit-picker about the historical detail or any inaccuracies on the series. I hadn't noticed double-yellow lines or conservatories or whatever, and in fact I'm been enjoying the series. However any viewer is entitled to criticise something which jars with their enjoyment of a programme. Viewers these days are attuned to anachronisms, however tiresome this may be to its creators, which is why they should take as much care as possible to eradicate them from productions.

TBH, double yellow lines and TV aerials and that sort of thing are pretty obvious anachronisms and should have been attended to by any crew. Isn't that what they're paid for?

People are entitled to have an opinion, and surely debating the details is at least showing some kind of engagement - proof of the fact that people are actually watching the programmes. What would he prefer? Critical praise or sycophancy? I'm curtseying and doffing my cap all at the same to you, Julian!:rolleyes:;)
 
IIRC, also on the original showing it was on ITV1 at 9pm on a Friday. It also had Tim Healy in it and one of the McCann brothers was in it too.
 
But of course WW1 will be looming over the horizon shortly - maybe series 2 when all the young men of the house will be expected to do their duty. Elsie made passing mention to "anything could happen, war even" when she was being escorted at the fair.
 
It does seem very likely that could be an option, but do remember that when Thomas went to his room he was hoping for an encounter but was rebuffed.

He then only had a short amount of time from being rejected to planning his revenge and having to administer any poison before guiding Turkish emissary to her Ladyship's Bedroom.
 
Apart from I want Nathans babies:o, and Thomas with his hair like that is a bit meh. And I don't think Nathan would turn gay for a promotion. Actually...:D

If Mary and Mathew get together, is it just me that would find that predictable and boring?
