Thomas obviously flilled O`Brien in on Mary entertaining Pamook in her room.. Or so we're led to believe, So, with Daisy floundering on what she knows, she puts O`Brien at risk, for being in chaoots with Thomas.

However, I'm now falling more into the thought that Pamooks death is something to do with Thomas, and not natural causes. Pamook rebuffed Thomas's advances. and did Thomas not serve Pamook a drink just as he was about to enter Marys room?

It seems weird though that he would suggest that to a virgin of the upper class at that time. She is not a prostitute! It would probably have been something completely unmentionable to her. Not only that, I think it would have been terribly painful and completely awful for her. Hardly something for a girl's first date.

It doesn't really ring true.
 
I get the impression they're trying to keep the dialogue simple, homely and accessible, as opposed to the rather artificial and over-elaborate dialogue of a lot of novels set around that the time.
 
I thought that too, but then decided it was more like a 'crush' on her part. If Bates was to have a romance with anyone, I wonder if the housekeeper (Phyliis Logan) would be more his type - certainly closer in age I suspect. Also, they have a bit of a bond after this last episode.
 
Oh goody - I was hoping he would. :p
I was also hoping there'd be something for him to hold on to in case that wagon went over a large bump in the road and he toppled orf and landed in a heap.
