Downton Abbey - ITV1

I've just watched the show on iplayer.

Thought I had recorded it on Sky+ but, when I went to play it, it wasn't there!! I was sure I had recorded it but guess I must have had 'a senior moment'!! :(

Thought I'd have to wait until next Sunday afternoon to see it and then it occurred to me to try iplayer. Phew!!

Well I never knew that - quite an eye opener but thank you.

I was just watching 'The One Show' where a reporter was interviewing the Duke of Devonshire with regard to a forthcoming auction of family heirlooms and she referred to him as 'Duke'. I immediately said to my husband, 'she should have addressed him as Your Grace'.

So it seems I must be a social inferior!! :)

Heh!

Well, it was obviously either a bit of a con, or else just an incredibly ill-thought out and stupid contraption. But there were a lot of very stupid inventions and faux-cures around then, he probably had a shop full of them. Metal hand covers that help coax the re-growth of lost fingers, etc.... :D

Yes, I don't know why I put maid, I think I was still half asleep. Mrs Hughes! So that's her name, right, I think there are just one or two characters left who I don't know the name of...

It was ditzy Daisy :D

Unless the milage is just that Mary's tattled on, or it's accidently revealed what happened, and Mr Crawley stanRAB up for her, causing her to either legitimately fall for him, or settle for him in order to save herself.

It's all a bit ambiguous what exactly was done, it's down to personal interpretation, I suppose.

But I can't imagine some Edwardian aristo thinking, "Oh, she's only had rampant backdoor action by some bloke she met that day?' That's alright then, I'll still have her as my blushing virgin bride." It's not even as if she's going to inherit the estate as a sweetener.

Nah - nothing as exciting as that!!!! Although the men are all looking a bit like suspects....
I wonder if Upstairs, Downstairs will be better than this. I hope so.

The Daily Mail did support British fascism until 1934, but then changed its mind. Like nearly all other newspapers it supported appeasement in 1938. It was Lord Rothermere, not Beaverbrook who owned it.

Since, as far as I know, nobody involved in the pro-fascist policy of 75 years ago is still working at the paper it seems a bit odd to use that as a reason to dislike it. Anyone looking at a recent edition will find lots of more relevant reasons to think it a shabby newspaper.

Can I join you? Just seen the trailer too, had me chuckling in parts and wanting to give Thomas a slap. Cracking character though. Dame Maggy was on top form too!

I am enjoying this prog.:) Just right for a Sunday night.

I have to admit I have a crush on Mr Bates and have to say I've just had to look up who he actually is in real life:o:o Brendan Coyle!

I also like Anna so it's OK by me if they get together. Well, if it's not me, I approve of her!:D It's quite sweet!

I think Mary is going to discover her night of Turkish Delight will result in the pitter patter of tiny feet.

I don't like slimy Thomas.

ARAB on ITV? Shocking! You watch ITV - you get aRAB, no point moaning. Watch the Beeb if you feel that strongly. I am so bored of this complaint
