Downton Abbey - ITV1

Bit of an urban myth that one, I'm afraid. If he had a heart attack with an erection, the blood would simply have been reabsorbed back into the systemic vessels within a few minutes. Blood flows into the penis during arousal due to the inflow of electrolytes from the arousal centre in the brain that widen the vessels and allow blood to flow in. The penis becomes engorged with blood and, hence, la bon stiffy. Upon death, the electrolyte supply would have stopped, the vessels would have contracted and the blood squeezed back out.

No doubt too much information...!

I wasn't complaining. I was responding to another FM about the programme being 90 minutes and not 60!!!! :p

I merely pointed out that by removing the ad breaks, it amounted to approximately 60 minutes. Is that allowed?

Bidie-In , I'm watching Downton Abbey tonight even though I'm in Aberdeenshire. We can watch English ITV because when we got Freeview my OH sorted it out to do so by using our old address in England. Don't know how he did it though, but we can also get BBC 1 from all the regions, not just BBC Scotland.

First post in this thread and loving this programme and to *ell with the mistakes! Dame Maggie cracks me up every time she opens her mouth! She deserves an award! Anyone else notice the resemblance of the american wife to the actress from 4 weddings and a funeral? Names all forgotten - senior moments!

My poor neighbours and frienRAB up here who don't have sky are going nuts! Why couln't STV have bought this?

I presumed she was his mother for some reason . ? She plays obnoxious well doesnt she ,!
And no one does snobby bettter than Maggie Smith .

I watch quite a bit on i Player. I get adverts , but far fewer. This programme lasted 47 minutes instead of 65 minutes live.

A very enjoyable programme, and easy to follow unlike some period dramas. An unexpected twist in each episode, the first , that Duke being gay and now the butler with his music hall past.

I don't know how many more episodes there are and how long in years it goes on . It would be interesting to see what happened to huge estates like that when WWI started with all the male staff having to go to war, and even some of the younger toRAB joining the army.

You say that (disingenuously it seems) and then go on to disparage the content of what I said. Hypocrite much?

And please continue to wilfully miss my point, that she is restrained and accomplished in some things and quite appalling in Dr Who.
