Downton Abbey - ITV1

Husband, Simon Curtis, wrote Freezing for her in 2008 - Bonneville played Curtis and she played herself with Rev's Tom Hollander playing a mad agent

I'm also finding it incredibly irritating, especially as the accent of the American upper classes back then would have been nowhere near as thick as hers.

I'm watching Upstairs Downstairs second time around on ITV3 each weekday - it's great to see it again. And I'm looking forward to Downton Abbey too - quite a while since the last period drama.

Dan Stevens was at my local theatre a couple of years ago. Can't remember the play now, but he was v good. Had a brief chat in bar afterwarRAB and got an autograph. HanRABome fella.

A couple of people have mentioned By The Sword Divided. Excellent, excellent series. A family divided by civil war when daughter of Royalist family marries a Parliamentarian. Really gripping, with fascinating hisotrical detail. Buy it here for cheapness:

Just caught up wit yesterday's episode. This keeps getting better and better, the only downside episodes seem shorter and shorter because Im enjoying them so much.

The whole Turkish guest's death is a bit of a mystery. Im assuming the sudden death will return to haunt Mary since the younger maid spotted her carrying the body,. She didn't know what was happening at the time, but she probably figured it out after the death was announced! Also, eveil black dressed smoking bit*h maid woman, seems intent on finding out more and Im sure she's going to keep on at it till she finRAB out - she already noticed the younger maid was distracted all day when the cheery cook asked her to fetch the flour!

I also wonder whether Thomas had anything to do with it! killing him would make sure his secret never came out. Don't know whether he would be capable of such a thing (and if he was - why didn't he do it with his previous man lover?) or whether he had access to poison or anything of the sort.

looking fwd to the next episode. Was this a 6-parter??? Suppose the Beeb are waiting for this to finish in order to air the updated upstairs Downstairs.

Just caught up with episode 2. Really enjoying this. Good to see the new family are good folk and are slowly strating to make a difference. liked the bit where the mother helped save the farmer's life. Also liking the whole Carson story lol.
