Downton Abbey - ITV1

What a lovely description of the man. :) My heart gave a leap when Dan came on screen in the last moments of the episode. Really looking forward to seeing more of him in the upcoming episodes.

It's also great to see the wonderful Hugh Bonneville again. Haven't seen him in ages!

I'm finding it difficult to warm to Jim Carter just yet. I can't help but compare him to: Sir Anthony Hopkins' wonderful depiction of Mr Stevens, or Gordon Jackson's exquisite Mr HuRABon, even. Carter doesn't even come close imho.

Also, I think the gay storyline spoiled the episode. I am not a fan of these modern depictions of period dramas where they leave nothing to the imagination any more. I already got the plot by just seeing the Duke bare-chested and in his dressing gown. Actually seeing the kiss dampened my own imaginings, to be honest.

I don't think that Lady Mary's reputation would be harmed if the incident with the Turk got out. After all that proves that she was so amazing in bed she gave the guy a heart attack! :D

Hehe! I'm sure you're more multi dimensional than Sybil is, though!

It's just the perfect oh-so-sweet younger sister character trope who just wants to be nice and good and true to everyone... kind of makes me want to barf. No one in real life is that one-dimensional, so it makes for a boring character, I feel.

Ha, yes, she has that effect on me, too.

I love this series, so enjoyable for a Sunday night, and I agree with others about too much "gritty", gory drama on Tv now.

Although I wouldn't mind something gritty happening to O'brien.

I wasn't particularly complaining about her accent, more her talent as an actress. I don't think she's right for this part and she's a pretty mediocre actress in other things I've seen her in, but each to their own. As you only describe her as "reasonable" and "ok" then maybe you don't think she's that good either! Luckily the rest of the cast more than make up for it, but I do think she's the weak link in this series.

Especially when one of them is very plain-looking. That's the one who taunted Mary over not hooking the Duke as she had hoped, to whom Mary replied, "At least I'm not fishing without any bait!" :D

I thought Pamook deliberately flirted to encourage him to try it on. That way he could feign outrage and demand the favour he really wanted.

Yea good point - it was left very open ended I thought - I guess there will have to be another murder - maybe amongst the service to unearth him!

Yes, she is a bit like Andie Macdowell, except she is pretty, she can act and her accent doesn't want to make me shove large apples in her mouth to stop her talking.
