downloading music from pc. How do you do it with the tx?

I am not clear on the instructions for downloading music files from a computer to the palm tx. I went to the rhapsody site , downloaded rhapsody. Went to the transfer portion of the rhapsody software, but when I went to look for my device, the palm tx is not listed.

I had the same problem, so I tried it with Windows Media Player, which didn't see the TX either. I then installed the Pocket Tunes plugin from the CD and it worked fine. I don't know about Rhapsody since I uninstalled it so as not to have yet another media program on my PC. Also, make sure you have Pocket Tunes open before you open Rhapsody or Windows media player(has to be at least version 10 I believe).

I also had the same problem. In Rhapsody, on the left hand side of the screen, there are 3 tabs; Play, Burn and Transfer. When I selected transfer, my palm would not show up as a device. I got mine to work by connecting the Palm to the PC with the USB transfer cable, selecting the transfer tab in Rhapsody, and then starting the P-Tunes App on the Palm. Once I started P-Tunes, my Palm showed up as a device in Rhapsody and I could drag and drop songs and then hit transfer. Also, in order for your MP3's to show up in Rhapsody, you'll want to:File:Import Music to my Library. Hope this helps.

what if you have a TX? Its not listed in the media options that are compatable. Ive tried to put music on my TX through windows and Rhapsody... and nothing... can someone help?

My previous post was for a TX. Also, today I found an an alternate method. I have an expansion card in my TX. I went to Palm Quick install, and hit "Add". I then chose the MP3's that I wanted on the palm, and they showed up in the Quick Install Window. I then did a Hot Sync and they transferred to my card. Seemed a bit slower that doing it through Rhapsody, but they found their way into P-Tunes.

I reckon just transferring the MP3s straight to an SD Card is probably the easiest and most convenient way. And from there, if you really wanted to, you could copy the files across to the main memory and remove the SD Card (to conserve power).

But personally, I don't really see the point of having the MP3s stored on the device itself. I'd rather my Palm's memory be devoted to applications and storing data. With copying to the SD card, it'd be just a matter of dragging and dropping MP3s via Windows Explorer (SD readers are cheap on ebay). And from what I've read, the Palm T|X can support up to 2GB memory ...

Hope this isn't off the mark of what you guys wanted ... :(
