Is it possible to pay to download one film from anywhere? I'm guessing I won't be able to as it's sex and the city I want to watch and it's still on at the pictures but I'm asking anyway
i'm guessing there will be video camera recordings of this film available on the bit torrent/file sharings sites but I dont think you need me to tell you that it is very illegal and, if you are going to break the law, at least do it for something decent
if you have to pay to download it your being ripped off as you could probably find the film on a torrent site................... but of course we dont condone the use of torrents on this site for illegal downloading
There are legal pay to watch/download movie sites but new one's that have not been on TV or released on DVD are a no no,it's a very grey area that will be difficult for the studios to find a solution to anytime soon (due to major distribution issues, quality etc).
There's always the booming illegal distribution world due to the internet and pirate DVD's,but quality won't be great.
Its floating around on the movie newsgroups but you will probably find its either.
1 Password protected and you have to visit a dozen dodgy sites to maybe get a password.
2 a non English version but with subtitles "usually Spanish or Russian"
3 a version done with a camera so its pretty poor quality.
Torrents and newsgroups are a good place to view movies from the 20s to the 90s but nothing new is there at a decent quality level.
Which is fine by me as I just love really old movies that arn't available any more.
I watched the Unaired Munsters pilot episode last night that was good.
As was a very early Hitchcock movie "the Lodger 1927"
I tend to use an english website that announces the releases and I tend to find they are always english but I dunno if I'm allowed to mention the site...... sayin that all the site has on there is screenshots of quality and the film names and who released them
Wait to download From those that do such unlawful things, I have heard one only waits for between 30 minutes and an hour. Of course they can go on and do other things on their PC whilst they are waiting.
Movies for download be they those out of copy protection or otherwise come in differing sizes and qualities.
For instance you can get 38 Charlie chan movies formatted for ipod and the total download will be just over 3 gig
They will be Just about watchable.
Commonly a TV episode such as you get via the bbc iplayer would be around 450 meg foe a 45 minute program.
A general movie file for a 1hr 30 min movie say would come in at 700 meg and be around video quality.
Longer movies at near dvd quality and your talking 1.4 gig maybe more.
An image of a complete dvd movie which would recreate the dvd with chapters subtitles and multi audio comes in at around 7 to 8 gig and neeRAB a dual layer dvd.
If you know your download speed you could work out how long it would take you under ideal conditions.
Personally I prefer watching new movies at the cinema and watching classic movies online.
Plenty of legal free stuff out there if your looking more for a good old movie than a modern production.
On a legal note the places to download the illegal stuff are becoming far fewer and more risky.
Laws are changing across Europe to match those in the USA
Mainly aimed the those who download and distribute copies than private individuals but the risk is there and if they wanted to they could prosecute.
DepenRAB on your connection and the number of people uploading the film, but usually an hour to two hours. You can use your PC while it's doing it, or just leave it on while you do something else.
These days I would rather buy a dvd when it comes out that go to the cinema.
Obviously the cinema experience has the potential to be an unbeatable experience.
Sadly more and more often its not.
Sound often far too loud but even then it doesnt drown out idiots who chat away all through the movie and even phone frienRAB on mobiles.
Sadly the cinema staff usually do nothing.
Even if you got a refund "unlikely" the evening is still spoiled and any other expense has to be repeated.
Maybe Im a grumpy old man but its how I see the cinema experience.
As Ive got a Cineworld card I tend to go to the cinema quite a bit. However I tend to avoid going in the evening to see a film because of the general cinema going public. I either go during the day if im off work or straight after work when the cinema are quieter. I dont download as I tend to see most films I want in the cinema!
