Downgrade coming. this should be fun

http://uspolitics.about.com/od/usgovernment/l/bl_party_division_2.htm

My mistake I glanced at the wrong column head. And what you said is either a flat out lie, or you just don't know what you're talking about. The reps controlled the Senate til 85 either way being ousted in 86 for Democrat control with the dems controlling the house for the decade.

So then the democrats supported his spending...which goes back to the talking point posted by hawkeye then reposted by EC trying to make Reagan look evil stating he ran 2 trillion in deficits. How is that incorrect?

Deficits that they helped create...since they controlled the house for all of the 80's.

If the real estate market had already begun to crash, then that is from policies from prior years of the Clinton administration leading back who knows how far. And again, for the rest of the Clinton administration, who you guys love to chant about running a surplus, the republicans controlled both houses.

So then there was Democrat support for it right? Since they controlled one half on Congress, in order to pass anything they had to vote and agree on it. Unless you're ready to say that the Republicans just sent things through one house and straight to the president.

The Healthcare bill has yet to even go into full effect so we won't even know how much that's going to cost us for quite some time. So we probably shouldn't jump the gun on saying the only debt increasing plan was the stimulus.

Still a moron. Dunno what you want me to say

The GOP at this point is not a part of conservatives. They spend on defense and security like the liberals spend on entitlements.

Oh, and there were Democrats STILL were in support of all those things.

230 billion....by 2021...meanwhile the actual cost of ACA hasn't even been remotely calculated since it hasn't even taken full effect yet.

Then you're incapable of reading.

But-but-but Bush!!

I don't think anyone in this thread yet said anything about Obama being to blame for the problem

But hey if that's the route you want to go, let's go pull Obama's voting record from when he was a senator and see how many of those Bush policies he was in favor of.

As far as that chart goes, talk about fucking spin.

Your history is:

Democrats should have shutdown the government, and the Bush White House doesn't really count as republican, but everything democrats do is democratic

I like how no matter what kind of historical evidence is presented to conservatives, they still droll on with the same tired old talking points.

These types of people are incapable of forming their own thoughts, much less engaging in a discussion. Oh hey and they are running the country, hurray!

BLAH BLAH BLAH THOSE UN AMERICAN MUSLIM SOCIALIST DEMOCRATS

YESSS LETS CHEER FOR DOWNGRADE OF AMERICAN CREDIT RATING!!!

Cutting off your nose just to spite your face conservaderps

Yea I messed up that one bit by switching the houses, but the statement that they controlled it past 85 is flat out WRONG.

It's not my problem the Democrats folded into his demanRAB. It's not like I was around to tell them "Hold your ground! Go on tv and call them out!" The democrats had a hand in passing EVERYTHING that went through the Reagan Administration. And the Clinton administration. And both Bush Administrations. And the Obama administration.

Nothing I've said to this point has pinned something on Obama alone. In fact, you're the one who's talking about him. I'm talking about the Democrats as a whole and Congress.

Then it saves a lot of money and I'm wrong. I'll be a big boy and admit it...if it saves a lot of money. All I'm saying is that right now it's way to early to say that it wasn't a debt increasing bill.

And I'm not ignoring shit. I don't know where you're reading that. These posts have been pointing out that the republicans haven't been alone in creating our current financial situation.

You like making shit up don't you? All I pointed out was that for everything Bush did, Congress supported it. Both Democrats and Republicans.

Gang of Six plans to cut spending 4x as much as taxes = rejected by GOP

Simpson (R) plan to cut spending 4x as much as taxes = rejected by GOP

Obama proposal to cut spending 4x as much as taxes = rejected by GOP

Conclusion?

IT'S BOTH PARTIES FAULT!

No I didn't. I've blamed them for contributing to the problem, not the result.

edit: The downgrade seems to fall squarely on the republicans if S&P can be trusted - they are saying that their math is off to validate the move

get presented with more complete list on history.

same old talking points.

you're response was well thought out and clearly proved that the Democrats had no hand in any of the things you posted. I tip my hat to you sir.
