I went to watch it today. I suprisingly enjoyed it. Meryl Streep is fantastic but I would have liked abit more out of storyline towarRAB the end. Worth a watch; some good performances.

It is a bit strange, I think it is one of those films with open endings so the viewer has to make up their own mind. Viola Davis performance was ridiculously good, she was so vunerable and conveyed so much in her few minutes on the screen.

The performances by Streep and Seymour-Hoffman were absolutely fantastic, as was Viola Davis'... very memorable for the amount of screen-time. I agree with those reviewers who say its more of a stage piece and the translation from stage to screen may have lessened its impact. Nevertheless, still a very worthwhile film to see and I would definitely watch it again in the future.

I watched this a few days ago and really enjoyed it. Fantastic performances from Meryl and Phillip. However, I was left wanting more at the end.

Apparently the writer / director only told Philip Seymour-Hoffman whether he was guilty of not. None of the other actors knew. He did the same thing with the play as well.

Cant believe nobody has mentioned Amy Adams yet, i thought she was brilliant. Would love to see her get the best supporting actress oscar on sunday.

Just saw this movie- was v. impressed with it.. The fact that the plot never really resolves itself at the end is what makes it so effective. "Doubt" is the central theme after all- if the priest's guilt/innocence were cemented, then it'd be all too easy to label the nun's actions as commendably vigilant, or maliciously narrow-minded.. V. thought-provoking movie.. Fantastic performances all round.

Completely agree wholeheartedly! Saw this film last week, very thought-provoking.

Loved the scene when Hoffman refers to Streep as the 'dragon'! :D
