This year the .hack// club would like to share it's discussions about the good, bad and the ugly within this huge series. The discussions here will include the anime, games, manga and novels and anyone can post their thoughts.

*Note- peeps should follow all forum rules and be sensible or it may result in negative rep*

We have put together a series of main awarRAB under the categories above so make sure you state the follow when nominating a show/game/manga please:

Ok Well I'll start things off with a couple of Nominations myself:

Anime- Most Shocking Plot Twist- .hack// SIGN.. reason below:
The ending of .hack//SIGN was kind of a bit surprising even though in the flash backs the character of Tsukasa did look a bit like a girl in the hospital bed... plus she did act a little girly throughout the anime if you watch carefully. The way her 'mother' doted over her putting [her] in a bed and giving her dolls to play with. I liked it though and I do think that the show ended well due to the meeting of RL Subaru and Tsukasa ^^
All Round- Fav Grunty- Mr Grunty...
I really liked this little light green grunty because his expressions were so cute and he does in fact save the day more than once... Plus the wings he achieves are very
 
I'll nominate Iron Grunty as a favorite. I like the way he(and the other grunties) have their own sound after every sentence.

Also, for favorite character from a game, I nominate Kite. He is easy to get along with, and will do what he can to help others.
 
Ok I have some more nominations:

Best character from the games: Well I'd have to split that up into male and female really or fav character/fav AI...

Female/AI- I really love the character design and plot surrounding Aura from Infection. the infinity syrabol she sports around the neck is a fine touch and gives depth!

Male- Orca just because he is one of the players who helps everyone else out even the Noobs (a player after my own heart )

Anime- Best Make character- SIGN's Bear
I seem to like this character design and this Baldemaster is another who tires to help others whilst playing the game. A cool father figure to a lot of the younger players and a good friend to peers.
 
I have to agree with you on that one TBH. As people may know I liked the relationship between Bear and Mimiru because of it's almost father daughter nature. She has a heart of gold but needed direction and he was there for her on more than one occasion.

I also liked her vice both in the Japanese and the English actually; The scenes where Aura is singing in the background and she's sat with Tsukasa on a high ledge somewhere near the gate. That was a fav scene of mine from SIGN I have to say!
 
Nate- why don't you post us your thoughts then as the more nominations and interest the more fun we can have ^^

Best Anime Theme song- Yasashii Yoake, ending to .hack// SIGN
It has an excellent drum beat and a very flowing melody enever mind the nifty lyrics
 
Best Boss Fight: Has got to be the doppleganger if that counts. That bastard was so hard I almost cried fighting that *****. But after I manage to get him down half-way I was satisfied.

Most effective team: I tended to use Endurance, Haseo, and a wavemaster. They seemed to work best for me, so I could have a healer, and 2 really good offensive.

Favortie Character: Alkaid by far.

Fav game: Would have to be G.U part two. Loved that one.
 
On the boss fight- Yes that defo counts and I know lots of people had issues with it, very cool though I agree...

I like her character design as it really suits the Twin Blade class. She remind me of Talim from Soul Calibur

As for GU- I have only played a little of GU//Redemption so I can't comment too much on what the second one was like but it does look like one fot eh classics. I liked part 3 but my fav had to be Infection as I prefer the SIGN style and characters over any other I guess. Plus it was the only hack game I fully completed!
 
Games -
Best Graphics: .hack//GU Redemption
Most Played: .hack//Outbreak (I waited 2 or 3 years to get Quarantine)
Favorite Game: Tie between .hack//Infection and .hack//GU (first one)
Best Storyline: .hack//Infection-Quarantine (especially if you include the backstory of .hack//sign and the .hack//AI Buster novel. Ignore Legend of the Twilight Bracelet sequal. And who can forget .hack//liminality. It makes a perfect world from all perspectives)
Best Boss Fight: Cubia from .hack//GU. Energy blasts from the sky and a hellacious fight to the finish. Whatelse did I need? Less Ovan, that's what.
Most Effective Team: Kite, Mistral, Gardenia (rape)
Favorite Character: Kite, Mistral, BlackRose (when you include her novels Another Birth I think it's called)
Worst Game: Probably Mutation. Infection Outbreak and Quarantine all had purpose. From introduction to hellacious battles that lead to the end game. And all the GU games were polished. Mutation. . .just was there.
Least Played: Infection. . .I got through it pretty quickly compared to the others.

Anime-
Best Female character: Mai Minase or Shino. Those two were very strong for there cause. Mai however felt that she could make a difference herself. Shino seemed to want to HELP Ovan make a difference.
Best Male Character: Haseo - He was pretty cool. From whiny victim to badass.
Fav Story Line: Sign - Liminality is a close second but Sign introduced me to the world. And it was alot more emotional. And come on Krim is awesome.
Most Shocking Plot Twist- Tsukasa is a girl. . .
Most Watched Anime- Liminality, only because I never had the other series on DVD.
Least Watched Episode- Legend of the Twilight Bracelet (whole series)
Best Theme Song- Sign Opening
Fav Grunty - . . .what?
 
Thanks for your nominations Hevno; I agree with the anime choices especially the theme music as both of SIGN's opening and ending music were spot on ^^

I did like Infection though and played it the most however, I would say I haven't played many of the other games and I did prefer the plot of that compared to the G.U story line.

Update- In the next week I think we can start a few of the awarRAB with a vote of the most nominated so if you haven't nominated in a category you have ideas for then please do so in the next week.
