*Dorian Gray

They're just narcissists
Well wouldn't it be nice to be Dorian Gray?
Just for a day
They're just narcissists
Oh, what's so great to be Dorian Gray
Every day?

Nice Libs quote. Dorian Gray is one of Pete's favourites.

I hope the film is true to the book, but from what I've heard so far, it looks unlikely :(

Any brief view of the film trailer will tell you that though the book would have made a great movie. I'm hoping it can't be as bad as Van Helsing

I wouldn't mind seeing this actually. Will be weird seeing Colin Firth in something serious though....kind of like proper acting for him i suppose :D

Anything with Ben Barnes in is a must see IMO.....

It was bloody terrible. Awful film and I was so looking forward to it.

Was so rushed, no character development at all. It was silly and just plain dumb. I couldn't care for Dorian or any other character and couldn't wait for the film to end. Very boring, tedious, cringey and irritating.

It was one of those films that should have been good, but just wasn't. :p

4/10

When I heard that Dorian Gray was going to be a film, I was really excited. But having seen the trailer, I think it looks slightly like Dorian Gray for the MTV generation, which is sad for me. I would like to see a faithful adaptation because I feel that it is such a great book, it deserves it.

Saw it tonight and I think Colin Firth (and Ben Chaplin) steal the film!

I quite enjoyed it, its trash but enjoyable trash. I was quite impressed by Ben Barnes in it, he was much better than I thought he'd be. I suspect it'd be nowhere near as good without its cast.

Its quite creepy in parts but the ending is suspense free unfortunately.

6.5 out of 10 from me.

It was pretty disappointing, Ben Barnes was a nice bit of eye candy, Colin Firth was great though. My biggest problem was:

The portrait at the end - there was such a massive build up to it and I was getting really scared but by the time we actually saw it it turned out to be such a let down! So much fuss for that?!

Dorian Gray: 2/5
Not a very good film TBH, it looks good in an MTV kind of way and the period atmosphere was good, it made the seedy stuff look sexier and exotic for some reason :o I mean, it wouldnt be the same if Dorian was a 21st century guy being introduced to Spearmint Rhino, if you see what I mean. ;)
Ben Barnes looks the part as the young Dorian but not much else.
During the part where Dorian is chased by an assassin (his girlfrienRAB brother?) why does he look scared/run away? He can't get older or be hurt

I know everyone else but Dorian is supposed to get older, but for some reason Colin Firth through the film looked older, then older still, then younger again?
