"Doomsday" on Sky Premier. A pleasant surprise!

I expected this to be absolute shite, and ended up rather enjoying its silly B-movie nonsense.

It seemed to rip off ideas, themes, scenes and even dialogue from every sci-fi genre going, Aliens, Escape from New York, Mad Max, 28 Days Later, The Warriors, No Escape etc etc but was a laugh anyway, despite the mess.

I liked Neil Marshall's previous efforts, Dog Soldiers and The Descent, but was expecting baaad things from this

Anybody else expect nothing from Doomsday, and ended up enjoying it?

Or did you expect nothing, and got nothing too? :D

I saw this film at the cinema and loved it too. I can understand why a lot of people wouldn't get it, but as a fan of all the sort of films it paid homage too I thought it was great fun. It's fantastic that this sort of film can still be made in Britain.

so she couldn't get away in a Bentley Continental GT (top speed 190mph+)??

the film seemed to me, to be various bits from Mad Max, 28 Days Later, Escape From New York and many more put together just because the writer/director/production team could!

Did I watch the same film?

It was utter garbage. It didn't even fall into the 'so bad it is good' category.

Did anyone actually read the script before they made it?
