Don't you feel that human civilization is on course to run right off a cliff?

Overpopulation, environmental destruction, war, hunger, poverty, disease, pollution, violence and so much more don't you feel like we're headed to a point where civilization could seriously just totally collapse unless we really start getting our act together on a massive scale, quickly too?

There isn't much we can do about it. To stop all of this from happening, we would have to surrender, MANY freedoms. Take China for example, to battle overpopulation they have a law restricting the number of births per family. A law like that would not sit well with the majority of the world's nations.

The same would be with everything else, you would HAVE to force people to care about health care, the environment, essentially it would mean a government takeover. You can't get everyone in the world to agree to care, the only way to prevent any of this would be to return to a form of totalitarian government, so that the government can monitor what comes in and goes out...ah, isn't fascinating how we really can't prevent history from repeating itself?

I know that if the economy doesn't start turning around, we will ALL be shooting squirrels out of trees for dinner, and living in tents... Welcome to the new America!!!

Stan it is inevitable that we as a species are bound to run into a large scale catastrophe! We haven't been god stewards of this planet, and now judgement day comes! Even if you aren't a person of religion, you can feel judgement day coming if you pay attention! How long before the nuclear war, the incurable disease, or the inability to feed ourselves? One or all of the things that you mentioned have a good possibility of happening, yet our politicians want us to keep playing with our Wii's and buying the latest cell phone! Things are going wrong fast and not ONE person is standing up with the right answers! It only makes you hope even harder that the Bible is right.

World history shows a major war occurs whenever technology advances weaponry and whenever the population mixes over a period of time disease that kills millions goes global. I would say we are past due for a world event. We need to remain alert for trends indicating an arms buildup to wage global war or pandemic disease is increasing because those two events occurring at the same time could kill billions, easily.
