Never be away from him, if you really care for him. If he wants to go to the store, or a friends house, you go with him. If he tells you to stay in the car while he runs in a house real quick, go with him. Have him always at arms length. And tell him, that whenever he wants to shoot up, just rip a bong. Weed is the best way to get rid of any addiction. Thats how some people I knew got off meth, and they were hardcore users. Be there for him. Beating him wont do anything... I hope you and your friend get through this together.

Once a junkie always a junkie. Even if he does kick the drugs he will be in a continual state of recovery (just like an alcoholic). Stay away from this dude until he gets clean and sober. People who shoot that shit up will just mess up and take you down with them! You were right to toss him out. Don't rush back into a friendship with him unless he's clean and sober. Offer to help him find a program or rehab center but don't let him into your life any deeper than that.
I do feel for you. It is a violation to find out someone you thought you knew is into something like that. Just remember it's his problem and not yours. If he chooses to shoot up shit rather than be your clean and sober friend than you know where you stand.

Ok, i know its been quite some timeand yes i did meet up with him. About 4:00 at Peets Coffee in Cupertino on homestead. So i get there before he does and order up a pot of tea. So im on my third cup then i watch him come in the door and just as he walks in the door i can tell that he's cleaned up quite a bit. He looked like he gained a couple pounds and he was totally upbeat and i saw a paper bag in his hand. so he walks in and sees me and we stare at each other for about 5 seconds then he takes a seat. first i say not to take me meeting him here as a sign that its water under the bridge and he says he knows. the convo went like this,
Me: want some tea
Jake: alright
Me: So what do you have for me
Jake: Everything i want to say is summed up in this bag here
Me: If its a severed head i'm going to be very upset
Jake: (laughs)
ME: (laughs) but all jokes aside
Jake: Look theres just some stuff in the bag that explains a lot more than i can here, look just bring it home and call me once you see whats there.
and he sipped the last sip of his tea and left. so i brought it home and opened it up. inside there was a DVD, A little baggie, a syringe (like Zoe said) and a side note, but the needle was melted and the baggie empty. the note said the DVD has all the anwers, so i pop it in and it starts out with him going on how he knows very well why i'm mad at him and knows it was very fucked up on how he said he wouldnt do it again and did it at my house nonetheless, so it goes on then he takes the syringe and the baggie and lights a fire in his fireplace, so he throws the syringe in and dumps the baggie inside. so it goes on and shows him loading the stuff in the bag and the note and he picks up the camerea abd goes outside and into his car. so he drives on until he gets to a house and stops in front and goes up to the door and knocks, finally sean (his supplier and the guy i threw out my door) opens up and says what. Jake drops the camera and knocks him fucking out like a light. he had to have broke his nose. then it goes to jake picking up the camera and it goes blank in which i guess he took the dvd out. so i have to call him and tell him that if this "movie" speaks the truth he's got to decide if he's gonna lose his friends or kick his habit.

I love happy endings. Just make sure Sean doesn't come after Jake with a gun 'cause he broke his nose.
