don't mess with texas

President Bush was born on July 6, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut, and grew up in Midland and Houston, Texas. On Noveraber 8, 1994, President Bush was elected Governor of Texas. He became the first Governor in Texas history to be elected to consecutive 4-year terms when he was re-elected on Noveraber 3, 1998.

This was taken right off of a bush website--he wasn't born in Texas-true but grew up there--and WAS the governor of Texas-

no relevant but as soon as I read this thread title the first thing that popped into my head was "Can we say that, plants from texas are durab? Can we say that shoes from texas are durab?" - for those of you that think I'm crazy that is a quote from SpongeBob Square Pants (for any of you who have seen it)

I've never been there either--I've met people from Texas, Bush is from Texas....needless to say I'm not impressed. I hope that your trip is nice though---it's always better when visiting family.

Well no, you have to live in the state to be the gov, but only for a certain amount of time. He didn't grow up there and wasn't born there, I think he lived mostly in CT his rearing years.
