Well the thing is i bought my Q brand new, played with it for two weeks and could not get the prl on it. I was wondering now i can do it? Only verizon right.....Sprint?

I made this little thread for all that want to flash a phone themselves

DO not buy the following phones to flash to cricket:

Sprint Treo 700w
Motorola Q

The Q is impossible at the moment, dont even ask ...(im so frustated about it still after i bought a brand new one)

REGUARDING web and flashing for Sprint Treo's

People thinking about getting those good deal sprint treo phones ! The 700w can not have working web. Long story on how it wont ! The 700p although can get flashed and wap working !

So far the only PDA phone that can get flashed and have working web is the following:

Verizon Treo 600
Verizon Treo 650
Verizon Treo 700w
Verizon Treo 700wx
Sprint Treo 600
Sprint Treo 650
Sprint Treo 700p
Sprint/ Verizon 6700
Sprint/ Verizon 6600
Verizon Samsung i830
Verizon Kyocera 7135

and thats about it so far....im working slowy but surely on getting more phones on this list. Also Iam working on with a good friend of this forum wap on traditional cdma phones....

Also if your intrested in buying a phone to get flash, try to stay away from sprint phones, there just more difficult and not worth it. Verizon is the way to go...

Iam currently have two of the new phones in the mailing for experimentation....

verizon samsung u740 (one really cool phone)
and the sprint UPSTAGE (one crazy and newest phones out ! )

When i tryed getting the 700w onto cricket it was no problem, getting the web working didnt work.... verizon 700w though will.....

can anyone lend a helping hand? i got a treo 600 on ebay already flashed to cricket. i know i need my dec esn but was only given a hex esn ( 8 digits ) and was told to use an online calculator to find my dec esn. i did so but the dec esn is only 10 digits (cricket neeRAB 11 ) i don't know what i'm doing wrong. any ideas?

If you get the sprint version, just load the verizon firmare on the phone. Works no problem.

one other question i called cricket to do an esn change and they told me they couldn't add a phone model that wasn't on there system. should i lie and say its a model they use or should i just play "durab" and pretend i have no clue what phone i have?

cool i was able to add the phone (thanks) now when i try to program *228 the phone says goodbye and shuts off wireless mode halfway into programming ... do i need to something else first?

Cool. I am going to but a 700w verizon today. I have done a few verizon 650's with no problem. What about setting up the wap settings. Is it the same as the 650 also?
