kill him? So here's what I remember...
This man keeps having this recurring dream in which he hears dogs barking in the distance, and knows they are coming to kill him. Each time he falls asleep, the dogs get closer and closer. He tries everything to keep himself awake, each attempt getting more and more desperate.
He tries drinking tons of coffee, he tries keeping himself distracted, he forces himself to stay awake for weeks and weeks to keep the dream at bay, because he's convinced that when the dream ends, he'll be dead.
So eventually they commit him, or send him to jail or something. Either which way, they won't allow him to keep himself awake any longer. He pleads with the guard to bring him coffee, or allow him to walk outside to keep himself awake because the dogs are getting closer and closer. He can hear them just around the corner now when he falls asleep... but the guard tells him no.
Eventually, the man falls asleep. The next morning, the guard walks in and the man is torn to pieces inside his cell, dead.
