LOL Here is another little tid bit
All those above govern a persons security clearance, lose your security clearance, lose your job....there are not many positions out there that dont require one.

Fuck even consenting swingers can get nailed....whatcha all bitching about

of course there is - certain people will tell you to GTFO if you tell them you like classical music or death metal

Because just today I was talking with a coworker about fucking one of the new interns. That's a very different conversation depending on if you're having it with a straight guy or a gay guy

disliking people who are different IS instinctual, I agree.....that doesn't mean there is nothing you can do about it. I come from a racist town and grew up surrounded by it, but when you're in close quarters you learn rather quickly to look past that and find things you DO have in common.

so yes, while it is instinctual, it also stems largely from ignorance.

apparently in his mind those that prefer classical music would be well within their rights to forbid other people from listening to death metal because the sound isn't pleasing to their ears.

And I think not enforcing the rule is a pragmatic approach, just as making an exception for a gay translator or whatever else depending on the circumstances.

Cooler heads should prevail, not the hotheads who want to instantly fix what they see as an injustice. Real, lasting change, for better or worse, takes time.

If some redneck soldier lets a homosexual affect him so much that it hampers his work, he is a worthless soldier who won't be missed anyway.

Most people do not have "emotional" reactions to whether someone is gay or straight -- most normal people in middle America simply view sexual orientation as something similar to taste in food or music.

pretty sure the vast majority of service members do not harbor "hatred" towards homosexuals. maybe discomfort or apprehension based off of limited experience with dealing with an openly homosexual person, but not hatred

But it's fairly well understood that certain heights have a different "presence" than others. This is the atmosphere that the honor guard creates.

I don't want to go poking into the personal lives of people either. But the military is its own organization with its own mission and does not work the way that civil society does

Not really. I don't give a shit one way or the other. Uber sexualist are the problem. I really don't want to hear anything about who sucked your dick, or whose dick you sucked.

"Don't tell, because I didn't ask" would be a better policy.

i also want to show something....DADT is not necessarily going away.

Theres more on the subject but im not going to bore you all with a wall of text....there are also some lined out items in the regs that couldnt copy paste over
