are you really unable to understand the difference between "do what you like in your own home, but don't join our group"?

Assigning duties based on height is not an aesthetic reason, whatsoever. Period.

There is no reasonable justification for expulsion based on natural sexual attraction. Period.

I'm not indifferent about what goes on around me either. If my personal preferences were codified into law the following people would be breaking the law:

racists, homophobes, militant feminists, male chauvinists, communists, born again christians, etc.

But unlike you apparently, I can differentiate between my personal preferences and laws. I don't want any of those people to actually be made "illegal" or whatever. I want them to have their rights just like I have mine, because I guarantee you there is someone out there that would be happy to make me illegal if their personal preferences were codified into law as well.

The same reason some people prefer classical music and some prefer death metal. There's no on-the-surface aesthetic quality to it.

but the military isn't civil society, sometimes people are forced to do things they don't necessarily want to do.

like get shot at. or have bombs detonated nearby. or jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

in the grand scheme of things, when you're doing all that shit having to be in the same unit as a guy that likes to take it up the ass when he's on leave seems to be a pretty minor concern.

Here's the scanario that worries me:

You have a bunch of young men full of testosterone, being told on a daily basis that they're killing machines (welcome to the Marines). It only takes several homophobes to make their life unbearable.

We'll see........

do you think its fair or right that the army lost a proven, effective operator, and the millions of dollars in training they sunk into him, because people think he's icky?

No, I'm just saying that it already happens. People are people. Whether there is an increase is questionable. Do you really believe out of a population of 3 million, there isn't any "hitting on" happening in the military?

I don't want to get into a conversation about what makes a person cool or not. it's really not about that.

I was being sarcastic. Of all the people I know, or even the people I've been shooting with, I don't know who is the best shot. I know who is the best shot out of a couple people I've been shooting with, but not all

Who gives a shit.

Only a closeted faggot would care if a homosexual is fighting on his side in a war.

absolutely. if they can pass all their required trainings they should be able to be in the military no matter what their weight is.

If you're 350 pounds but you can complete PT, more power to you.

You don't think that in the sum of human experiences that is not a possibility? Case by case, man. It will happen, but the majority of the time it won't.
