I'll have to give that a watch. I really liked Ip Man and it got me back into watching "kung fu" movies.
I watched a couple of his others but they weren't as enjoyable. I think it was because Ip Man was a more classy film and based on a true story.
I've had a copy of "Ip Man" for ages now. I must get round to watching it sometime !
I've also got "Fighter In The Wind", "Warrior King", "Chocolate", and "The Foot Fist Way" all not watched !
I prefer Donnie in more modern day set films, liked his work in SPL(or Kill Zone for countries with that silly title), and Flashpoint. Some wonderful martial arts in the two films.
SPL is one of the films I watched that I didn't like as much. It was a hark back to chinese late 80s/early 90s cop films with Chow Yun Fat and John Woo and a little of Police Story.
Im a big Donnie Yen fan. I loved Ip Man, started looking for Ip Mann 2 as soon as I started reading this post. I'll pretty much buy anything that hes in.
I watched Ip Man again last night followed by the sequel. I have to say that 2 isn't a patch on the first.
The fighting is still excellent, although too much wire action in the table scene but the overall story is nowhere near as interesting. It seemed like just another kung-fu movie whereas the first stoot out as something a little special.
