Donnie Darko - Directors Cut

Got the US DVD and it has all this extra footage as deleted scenes so I won't get any surprises. However, as I have a UGC unlimited card and it's one of my favourite films I think I'll meander down to the cinema to see it properly cut together.

Didn't he want to use a different tune for the daughter's dance troupe's performance instead of Duran Duran's 'Notorious'? I'm pretty sure that they couldn't afford what they really wanted to use.

Let's just hope that the Directors Cut actually helps to expand the movie and not just create a flabby mess.

Yeah he wanted to use the Pet Shop Boys and West End Girls...

I'm so excited about this re-release prospect...became a massive fan of Jake Gyllenhaal since Donnie Darko, lets hope it does really well in the cinemas this time round.

May well pop along to watch, love the film, best i've seen in years. Saw the original in a small local cinema, rather than a big multiplex. So much better to see it there, gives it so much character. The big cinemas are soul less!

Really looking forward to this, and I'm glad it will include genuinely previously unseen footage as well. They should re-release it in the UK during October, that would be a great idea as that is the month the film itself is set in. :)

Ahhh yes - that's right! I think it actually work better with Notorious, I guess I'll see when the Director's Cut arrives later in the year...:)
