Thanks Sue J -nearly right - I used tools which shows CTL+Shift+Del -went back to favourites - history - then used ctl+shift+del and it cleared all history!
You can delete all history by going to the star at the top and clicking history you can review history from up to 3 weeks ago and i think there is away to set it so that nothing is saved in the first place. Hope this helped.
