Doing a nosewheel on a bicycle?

On a bicycle do you need to have a disk brake on the front's wheel to ride a nosewheel. Or can you use regular brake shoes system I know it can be done but my question is have you ever seen anybody do it. With brake shoes. I know it's very difficult to do it that way.
Be able to ride it for a distance in a coasting mode only feathering the front brake
 
that's called a stoppie a nose manual you don't use brakes i do it quite often you have to push forward on the bars and balance is almost on the front of the wheel you also must lift with your feet to get far enough forward
