Dog whines in kennel?

I have an 8 week old puppy and he whines in the kennel at night (we have had him for 3 days now). We take him out to go to the bathroom. When we put him back in the kennel he whines and whines. We put him in the kennel during the day and he will whine quietly for about 1 minute then quiets down. What can I do to get him to stop whining during the night?
 
Walk him everyday.. at least 30 mins so hes tired and doesn't get bored.

If hes had lots of exercise, lots of food, lots of attention (when its nessecary) then you should hush him if he whines..

But don't hush him if hes whining for good reasons.



Also, only give a dog lovin when he's done something good.
and hes calm.
If hes jumping around crying whatever, (being mean or rude)
Don't give him any type of good attention ALWAYS! wait till he calms down..

I am also very fasinated with dog breeds and there behaviours, I think everyone should mention the breed of dog when asking a question :D
