I have a year old dog taken from the shelter last week. He is very cute and smart,however I think 1 week is soon to adapt and whenever we go outside he goes crazy.
Ive read tons of articles on walking the dog, but he ust keeps on pulling and sniffing and walking infront of me. I can give him a quick tug to throw him off balance, even a stronger one, he will just get up and continue going ''bad''. Then I usually shorten his leash so he right besides my foot, but he will try to pull so much he will start choking.
Any help please ???
And 2nd thing - he loves to play with other dogs. Simply loves it and NEEDS it. I let him go off leash when Im in the dog area with other dogs, and he runs around and plays with them, which is what i want - he gets his exercise and he is calm at home. However how do I make it so, when he goes off leash its a reward and when he is ON leash he behaves ? I dont want him to think the off leash is becuase i cannot handle him.
