Dog grooming and nicking on the skin?

Is it normal for dogs to get nicked from the groomers? My dog now has 4 nicks after about 1 year worth of grooming. Is this normal? My dog was a rescue and does give them a hard time when grooming so I'm not sure if it is my dog or the groomer to blame?
Schnauze do you live in california and would you groom my dog? haha I'm really serious.

I have a rescued Bichon and his hair needs ultra maintenance which I am just getting used to.
My dog was shaved close to the skin because he is a Bichon and easily develops matts. I rescued this dog from my neighbor and I am still trying to get used to the brushing. I didn't go into this out seeking a dog, I just happened to find a dog in need so I took him in and giving him a good life. I just need to work on the brushing part.

depends on how it happens. What i would do is see if you can talk to anyone who goes to the groomers (someone you met in the lobby even) and ask them if they have a nicking problem too and which person actually grooms their dog. if it isnt the same person and she doesnt have a problem polietly ask if that grommer can groom your dog and see itf the problem persists.

If she has the same person but no problem it is probably your dog.

If thats the case i would suggest getting a few cheap grooming tools and desensitize your dog to them by showing them the tools (not using them at first) and when they act well around them give them a treat (dont force them tho let them come on their own and at the first sign of distress take the tool away). Slowly work up to using the tols on them your self (just trimming a little) and then when you take them to the groomers give the groomer some treats and ask her to reward the dog for good behavior.

Finally if the other person has the same problem go to a different groomer.
