Hi,

2 months ago we got a "hypoallergenic" puppy.

If anyone is going to have an allergy to it, would it have happened immediately?

I'm asking because in the last two weeks my daughter has been complaining of stuffy ears, but really not sneezing or anything.

It is winter now so we're indoors with forced air heat and all the lovely things that go along with that, so I'm not sure if it could be the dog or just winter allergies.

thanks

Well, if she hasn't been exposed to dogs much before, it might have taken some time for her body to "decide" to be allergic. Or she might be just a little allergic, and only notices it when she's indoors more, the dog is indoors more, the house is closed up and the dog's skin gets a little dry from the winter air. (With some pets, dry skin can produce more dander). Or people can develop allergies to familiar substances at any time.

Or it could be it's not the dog at all. Skin scratch testing by an allergist would answer the question one way or another.
