Doesn't the mainstreem science version of cosmology make God seem more

brilliant than the 6000 yr old.? Christian theology version. Seven days, then a garden a snake and an apple, then hundreds of offspring from the same parents. I'm bored to death. I would never give up fascinating real science for this quick rap up of the history of everything. I recently watch hours of Dr. Hovind trying to prove Genesis and refute science, and he is a (former) science teacher. I wonder why he is not longer a science teacher - NOT. After watching he effectively made me distrust the bible and those who quote it. I was interested in Christianity and he made a mockery of it because of absurd claims. Check out Dr. Hovind on Youtube or elsewhere to see how the other side thinks. I still have plenty of faith in God but not the religion that inspires Dr. Hovind.

The problem with using any deity as an explanation for the beginning of the universe is that it does not explain the origin of the deity. We understand how complicated things evolve from simple things, so it is quite a problem to explain how a deity came into being. In fact it is a vastly greater problem explaining any deities than it is to explain the origin of our universe. Inflationary cosmology describes the first second of our universe, and its predictions have been verified by observations that led to Nobel Prizes in Physics to Arno Penzias, Robert Wilson and George Smoot. There are no physical observations the provide any solid evidence for any deities.

I would say the older version makes God look smarter. I mean you'd have to be rather intelligent, not to mention powerful, to pull of the creation of the universe in 6 days just so you can look down on it on the next day and be like "I think this is up to my standard."
