Does Verizon Offer The Ability To Swap Between Phones? A CDMA Simless Card Service?

GSM carriers offer SIM cards that allow for a customer to just take the SIM card out of one phone and use it in another.
And I remember hearing that Verizon was going to offer a feature that would allow a customer to change between phones just by changing a setting through the web site. Is this feature real, and if so, how do I set it up? On the web site there is an option "Activate Your Phone Online"; so is that the service?

Verizon has a bunch of phones that I like and if I can just swap the ESN info through the web site; then that would allow me to enjoy using several different phones.

So does anyone know what I am talking about? Can I swap service between several phones? Is there any limitations, fees, ect?

Thanks Ellen!!! How many times have you used that service? Is there really no limit? I wouldn't abuse the service, I just don't want to get into trouble.

What happens if you use that service to activate a PDA? Verizon charges more for PDA data. So what would happen if I transfered my service to a PDA? Would my account be changed to allow for PDA data? Or does Verizon no longer charge extra for PDA data?

Just a little info:
You should be able switch the phones out online, as far as a limit.... the billing system may only allow 3..or 5 (can't remember the number)swaps in one day. Ther used to be a limit, I am not 100% if this still holds true though.

The online system was enhanged a while back, so you SHOULD be able to transfer to any phone, because it gives you the ability to change features.

Even the most undecided among us should be able to narrow a phone choice down to 5, so changing more than that would really be overkill anyways (in a single day no less). I think the OP was just worried about there being a lock like 5 per year or something.
