I see check engine code P0420 appearing for my 2004 Toyota Corolla. This needs new Catalytic Converter to fix the problem. There is big difference in price of Toyota co. part and same available in after market.
My mechanic says that I should get original Toyota Catalytic Converter only as he has seen that after market Catalytic Converter of Toyota does not work for more than 2 months. There is reason to believe it as he is suggesting to get it installed by Toyota and hence he will loose his labor charges.
I want to know if someone has experienced such issue or can provide some kind of input to take a decision.
