Does this poem display a life-cycle theme?

the poem is about how in the begining it was the same as all the others but when it bloomed it was unique the last lines are refering to it dying the whole poem is most likely a metaphor

This is my poem for an english class, it's supposed to show life cycle theme...
Cherry blossom, you just now grow,
but you are only a bud.
One bud of many on a branch,
one branch of many on a tree.
You are not unique,
you are only a bud.
But as spring comes,
and the air moistens,
you’re petals begin to unfold.
Like arms embracing the world
your petals stretch widely,
and reach up to the sky.
But life is short, cherry blossom,
and your petals won’t stay.
They wither and warp
before descending to the ground.
Good-bye, cherry blossom,
for you have now fallen.

I am questioning the last line, any suggestions would be great. (No hate though...)
