Does this new film offend you?

We have not even got a distributor yet. No release date and this is not an ad. Looking for comments from regular people to find out how they feel about this trailer. Also wondering if I need to re-cut the trailer.
Thanks

Hi :)

I enjoyed the trailer, and would definitely watch the film. It's the sort of thing I enjoy ;)

How and when is it going to be released? Could you give me more details please?

Thanks, Smoo.

Edit: Oh, I see you don't have a distributor or release info yet. Damn!

it doesn't offend me, but i can see it would cause a huge rift and you would get seriously bags of hate mail.
Is this a real documentary or is it fiction?

I'd say it was a poor attempt at Spinal Tap, but then what do I know; I wouldn't touch this thing with a 60 foot barge pole.

That aside, I am a little confused from the trailer; when it mentions right at the start - God and Man square off......How? The only thing I can think of if the inbred blindness of the Deep South Bible Bashers, to anything that is the 'work of Satan' aka Rock/Metal/Non-Hymn music.

However, the impression I got from the trailer was that they don't like this band; because Chris Scum is a certifiable nut job. Mind you the other band members aren't that far off the padded cell either, so that probably isn't helping.

I Googled 'The Dirty Works' - couldn't find anything about them. The blood on the guy's face looks fake so I'm guessing it's a spoof in the Spinal Tap tradition. If it's genuine, my mistake! I guess real life is stranger than fiction. ;)

Edited update...

Is genuine:

It's possible some of the stuff is done for the film, just to be over-the-top. People often act crazy when they're being filmed.

It looks ok. It doesn't offend me in the slightest. people who are offended by it should shut the hell up, and go kiss their bible, or whatever it is they do. Good trailer.

This is a documentary and The Dirty Works is a real band. I am surprised you did not find more about them on google. You can check their myspace.com/thedirtyworks. They have an album out called "Biscuits and Liquor". They were around for over a year when I discovered them. They were opening up for a band that I was shooting a music video for. I had never seen anyone like them. They reminded me of Spinal Tap and the Bad News Bears but were real. The documentary is real and Christopher Scum has been pulling these antics for years. His old band opened up for GG Allin back in the day. Glad you guys want to see it!

I wanted to see it while I thought it was a mockumentary, now I know it's real I really can't be arsed, just one more crap band getting recognition because of their antics rather than their music, banRAB like that are two a penny.

The trailer did look good though, so no doubts you have done a good job, if you are into that sort of thing.

I have to say they are not a crap band. This band really evolves during the film. They have a lot of barriers to break through. The lyrics and the messages are more thought invoking than anything I have heard in years. Christopher Scum may not have the best voice but his lyrics are amazing. Who neeRAB a good voice to sing punk anyways. There is no other band like The Dirty Works.

i know its a documentary but you would get more viewers and more people will like it had it been a mockumentary and just taking the piss outta banRAB like this.
I think it is because it is a proper documentary that you are getting a lot of hate mail. If it was a mockumentary and people thought it was for pure fun and not fact then people would like it a bit more.
People don't like to be preached to and i got that impression from it with all the religious references again not a good thing if you don't want hate mail.

I have to say the movie is fun. No one is really preaching at you. You just see the day in the life or rather two years of the most ****ed up band on the planet. The stuff that happens in unbelievable, you could not make this shit up. Actually Mockumentarys are quite boring to me you can usually tell they are fake. We live in a world where American Idol contestants outsell real musicians. They are over hyped karaoke singers that don't write their own music or lyrics. Here is a band that does and you get to see what happens when you try to make it in a ****ed up time like now.

Well I might give it a go once it comes out, I just get the feeling i'm going to be watching a bunch of drunken, drugged up clowns who sing badly once in a while. There is nothing new about this.

Anyway lets put my hesitations aside and I'll tell you that you should embrace all negative hate mail you get, all publicity is good publicity, especially when it's over the top right wing hate filled publicity, this will only help in getting your film a larger audience.

Will you be offering this film for download do you think?

TBH, it doesn't look fun. Mockumentaries are funny. Will Young - the first ever Pop Idol winner (the true Idol not AI copy) is still going and he does write his own songs. Some of them do write their own songs, well co-write.
